HOW TO JAILBREAK iPhone using JAILBREAKME.COM?

Finally an easy Jailbreak is out (for the less adventurous people :P ) www.jailbreakme.com . This is an very easy Jailbreaking technique, which uses the PDF EXPLOIT inside iOS 4. All you have to do is visit the site & slide to Jailbreak... Now that's easy ;)

Below is the tutorial for HOW TO do this. JailbreakMe.com allows you to jailbreak any "i"Device be it an iPhone, iPod Touch or an iPad starting with 3.1.2. Now thats great ;) & for the LAW ABIDING CITIZENS, JAILBREAK IS NOW LEGAL!!! So you dont have to worry about that either.
Now for the Smart ones thinking about the fact that, if they Jailbreak the flaw in the iOS still remains. THE PDF EXPLOIT which was fixed by Apple in firmware 4.0.2 (& broke the Jailbreak . Well don't worry, Saurik (The Mastermind behind CYDIA) has made a patch for this, which patches the PDF EXPLOIT but allows the phone to be Jailbroken!

Before we start.. Like always..
I DO NOT CLAIM ANY RESPONSIBILITY IF YOU SCREW UP YOUR DEVICE , ALSO THIS METHOD IS NOT INVENTED BY ME.

Steps to JAILBREAK iOS
:

1 -> BACK UP YOUR DEVICE!

2 -> Visit JAILBREAKME.COM from the iDevice you want to Jailbreak.

3 -> Slide the arrow to JAILBREAK

4 -> This starts the Download process

5 -> After the download is complete, the JAILBREAKING process starts. (DONT DO ANYTHING, JUST BE PATIENT LET JAILBREAKME DO ITS THING)

6-> Once its done, you'll get the below conformation.

That's it, you have successfully JAILBROKEN your iPhone / iTouch / iPad :)

How To's - The iPhone 3GS!

This is my 3rd post in the How To's Series, in which we will see how to take a Screen shot of the iPhone screen. For the previous 2 post see below.

1-> How To Transfer Contacts from Outlook to iPhone?
2- > How to Connect to Internet using Home/Office Network on iPhone?

So here goes..

3-> How to Take a Snapshot of your iPhone Screen?

Is it possible?? YES! it is. For those of you who don’t know, since the release of Firmware 2.0 this (unfortunately less publicized) “AMAZING” feature is available in iPhone.

Here’s how to take a Screenshot of your iPhone.
Open up the application or webpage whose screenshot you wish to take. Once you’ve got the screen you want to capture displayed, first hold down the iPhone home button. While holding it down, press the on/off button at the top right of the phone. You’ll hear a camera shutter sound and the iPhone screen will flash white for a moment. That’s the screenshot being taken. That’s it! The Snapshot will be saved in the “Camera Roll” folder in the iPhone. Now you can move it to your PC & edit it, or just go ahead & mail it anyone you want.

How To's? - The iPhone 3GS!

This is My 2nd Post in the How To's Series, in which we will see how we can share the Home / Office Network with iPhone?

2-> How to Connect to Internet using Home/Office Network on iPhone?

Now since I switched to iPhone, I was forced by Vodafone to move to the iPhone plan, the basic one starts at 200 bucks with only 100 MB of free download :( Now the best part about iPhone is that it connects to a know Wifi Network the moment it is within its range. So I thought about why not have it work on WiFi whenever possible! Like at home & at work? At home I have a WiFI router so the issue was resolved, but at work I did not have access to the WiFi security key :( but I had a WiFi enabled Laptop!! That’s it.. Networking Chapter 101 :D . ICS “Internet Connection Sharing” You may find many articles on net regarding the Tethering on iPhone & how to use it (Via a Hack) which basically allows you to use the iPhone as the Modem & allows you to connect it to your PC/Laptop. But you will hardly find a reverse. This is how its is done, Using ICS!!!

Just enable your Local Lan (Wired) for ICS, once this is done create an Ad-Hoc Network between your iPhone & Laptop/PC (Provided your PC has 2 LAN cards out of which one is Wifi). Once this is done, just search for WiFi Network on your iPhone & will prompt you to connect tou your newly created Ad-Hoc WiFi Network. Join in & Voila.. you can surf the net using your Home/Office Network ;)

How To's? - The iPhone 3GS!

iPhone ..aaahh What an amazing Device. The Phone that revolutionized the “Cell Phone Industry”, the Phone that changed the conception of how a “Cell Phone” should be. Thanks to my Elder Brother I have one now :)
There are quite a few things I noticed while migrating from my old Samsung Star 3G to the iPhone 3GS, some I had the answers to, some I Googled, Some were only for MAC but not for our good'ol Windows. I noted down all these & will be updating on this page! So here goes.

1-> How to Transfer contact from Outlook to iPhone?.
The 1st thing everyone does after getting their hands on a new phone is Transferring Contacts. Well even I was planning to do that, but the question was how. Well one would say, just copy the contacts on to the Sim Card & move them, but that only works when you have a contact list of 200-250. What if the list is more & in my case a good 370 with 2-3 numbers assigned to a single contact. In that case we need to do the below.
Install your old phones PC Suite & get the Outlook Address Book synced with it. Once this is done, open up Outlook & do the blow mentioned steps (depending on your version 2003 / 2007. If you have any prior to these, it’s HIGH TIME YOU UPGRADED! ) :P

I have Office 2007, so the screen shots provided are for 2007 :P

Outlook 2003

1. In Outlook, choose Tools > Options.
2. Click Other and then click Advanced Options.
3. Select COM add-ins and select the iTunes sync add-in and click OK.
4. Click Apply and then continue with the steps below.

Outlook 2007

1. In Outlook, choose Tools > Trust Center.
2. In the Categories pane, click Add-ins.
3. In the Details pane, locate the iTunes add-in in the "Inactive Application Add-ins" list.
4. In the Manage box, click COM Add-ins, and then click Go.
5. In the COM Add-Ins dialog box, select the iTunes sync add-in.
6. Click OK.

Once this is done, open up your iTunes & connect the iPhone to PC. Once iTunes is done Syncing the phone, go to the “Info” Tab & check mark the option that says “Sync contacts with Outlook” & then press Sync.

That’s it; you have all your contacts in your iPhone :)

Well that’s all for now, I’ll be updating the blog sometime soon, with more stuff.
Till then Tata.
